Space Opera
Verschillende soorten wezens leven hun alledaags leven op de planeet Xanubis. Ze worden onderdrukt door hun wraakzuchtige koningin die probeert de macht te grijpen over het heelal en verlangen naar een veilige thuisplaneet. Wezens van andere melkwegstelsels observeren de onderdrukking. Hopend op vrede en verlossing staat er een melkweg op het punt geboren te worden. Het motto is hoge kwaliteit ‘trash’, wat naar voren komt in de sfeervolle muziek en zelfgemaakte attributen en kostuums. Er worden technieken gebruikt als rotoscopie, green screen en stop-motion animatie. De aantrekkelijke esthetiek speelt met de percepties van schoonheid en lelijkheid, het aangename en het akelige.
Space Pussies is een collectief dat werd opgericht in 2018 door studenten van verschillende departementen aan de universiteit van Linz (waaronder schilderen & grafische kunst, eeldhouwkunst, transmediale ruimte, experimenteel ontwerp en tijdgestuurde media). Het collectief bestaat uit vrouwen, non-binairen en zelfverklaarde aliens. De experimentele kunst film Space Opera was hun eerste productie en er zullen er nog vele volgen.

By pursuing their usual daily routines, various creatures inhabit the planet Xanubis. Being oppressed by a vindictive queen who tries to seize intergalactic power, they yearn for a secure home planet. Beings from different spheres observe the injust oppression. In the hope of peace and salvation, a new galaxy is about to be born... The motto is high quality trash which shows in the atmospheric sounds and self- created props and costumes. Used techniques include rotoscopy, green screen and stop motion animation. The appealing aesthetics are playing with the perception of beauty and ugliness, the pleasant and unpleasant.
Space Pussies is a new collective founded in 2018 by students from various departments at Art University Linz (including Painting & Graphic Art, Sculpture - Transmedial Space, Experimental Design and Time-based Media). The collective consists of women*, non-binaries and outed aliens. The experimental art film Space Opera was its first production with many more to come.

RIOT NOT DIET
Een gouden zomerjurk in maat XXL, het ijsje drupt langzaam smeltend op de hete grond. RIOT NOT DIET creeert een feministisch utopia ver van BMI normen en mannelijke wellustige blikken. De dikke vrouwen en queers in deze film schamen zich niet voor hun omvangrijke afmetingen, maar eisen zelfverzekerd hun ruimte op. Ze gebruiken hun eigen lichaam om patriarchale structuren omver te werpen en genieten van hun eigen lijf voorbij de neoliberale idee van uitbuiting. In tijden van zelfoptimalisatie is je buik een statement!
Julia Fuhr Mann werd in 1987 geboren en Duitsland en woont tegenwoordig in München. Ze is een filmmaker, curator en queer-feministisch activist. Na haar studies filosofie, literatuur en sociologie, studeert ze sinds 2013 filmregie aan de Universiteit van tv en film in Munchen. Als lid van PRO QUOTE FILM komt ze op voor gendergelijkheid in de filmindustrie, ze is curator voor het vrouwen cult filmfestival BIMOVIE en werkt sinds kort voor de gerenommeerde Duitse krant DIE ZEIT. Sinds 2018 werkt ze als video editor voor Süddeutsche Zeitung.

A golden summer dress in XXL, the ice-lolly drips slowly onto the hot ground. RIOT NOT DIET creates a queer feminist utopia far away from BMI norms and male* gaze. The fat women* and queers in this movie are not ashamed of their expansive body dimensions, but confidently claim space for themselves. They use their bodies to blow up patriarchal structures and enjoy their corporeality beyond the neoliberal logic of exploitation. In times of self-optimization, your belly is a statement!
Julia Fuhr Mann was born 1987 in Germany and is currently living in Munich. She’s a filmmaker, curator and queer-feminist activist. After studying philosophy, literature and sociology, since 2013 studies in film directing at UNIVERSITY OF TV AND FILM MUNICH. As a member of PRO QUOTE FILM she stands up for gender equality in film business, she’s a curator of women&cult film festival BIMOVIE and recently realized a spot for the established German newspaper DIE ZEIT. Since 2018 she works for the video editorial of SÜDDEUTSCHE ZEITUNG.

Faerıe fılm
“FaerieFilm” (1993) is Eugene Salandra’s bekroonde geänimeerde documentaire over de Radical Faeries. Vanuit de originele negatieven werd de film onlangs digitaal herwerkt. Audio interviews met zeven leden van de New Yorkse Faerie community uit de vroege jaren ‘90 worden samengebracht met kleurrijke animaties.
Eugene Salandra is een animatiekunstenaar in Los Angeles, Californië. Hij heeft lang voor Disney gewerkt, aan projecten zoals “Kim Possible” of “Sofia the First”. Eugene verhuisde van New Jersey naar New York om aan de NYU film en televisie te studeren; daarnaast studeerde hij ook tekenkunst aan de Art Students League of New York. Zijn mentoren waren Tissa David and John Canemaker.

"FaerieFilm," Eugene Salandra's award-winning 1993 animated documentary about the Radical Faeries, has now been digitally remastered from the original negatives. Audio interviews with seven members of the New York Faerie community in the early 1990's are combined with colorful animated images.
Eugene Salandra is an animation artist in Los Angeles, California. Much of his career has been spent working at Disney on such projects as "Kim Possible" and "Sofia the First." Originally from New Jersey, Eugene studied film and television at NYU, and drawing at the Art Students League of New York. His mentors were Tissa David and John Canemaker.

Dan komt ze de charismatische en sensuele Bacchus tegen, die haar meelokt naar een kleurrijke wereld - het compleet tegenovergestelde van haar eigen realiteit. Op deze mysterieuze plek ben je vrij om je instincten te volgen en je diepste verlangens te verkennen.
Rikke Planeta (*1993) is een regisseur en CG-artist uit Kopenhagen, Denemarken. Ze is onlangs afgestudeerd aan The Animation Workshop, waar ze op modelling, sculpting en texturing focuste, als ook op verhaalontwikkeling en karakterontwikkeling. Bacchus is haar eerste film, en ze hoopt om in de toekomst opnieuw regie te doen.

One day, she sees Bacchus, a charismatic sensual figure, who lures her into a colorful world, which is the complete opposite of her own reality. In this mysterious place, you are free to follow your instincts and explore your deepest desires.
Rikke Planeta (*1993) is a director and CG-artist from Copenhagen, Denmark. She recently graduated from The Animation Workshop, with her main focuses being modelling, sculpting and texturing, as well as story development and character exploration. Bacchus is her first film, and she hopes to direct again in the future.

Poof Paradise
De beeldtaal in poof paradise doet de kijker denken aan een pastelkleurige sprookje. Onze princes*, een rooskleurige anus die een reis onderneemt naar de mystieke ruimte van de cruising area. Kleurrijke handen proberen onze protagonist te verleiden en communicatie is beperkt tot een oppervlakkig en betekenisloos minimum. Cruising gebeurt op openbare plaatsen, maar staat toch ergens ver af van onze heteronormatieve maatschappij. In poof paradise veranderen deze plaatsen in een surreële wereld waar de mogelijkheden van queer identiteiten eindeloos zijn, en de grenzen van onze maatschappelijke normen vervagen. De kunstenaars creëren een lustvol amalgaam van het lieve en het bizarre.
Berivan Sayici en Florian Aschka ontmoetten elkaar aan de University of Applied Arts Vienna waar ze fotografie studeerden, en later opnieuw toen ze aan de academy of fine arts Vienna bij Hans Ashley Scheirl studeerden. Sindsdien hebben ze samen talrijke artistieke projecten gerealiseerd. Hun meest recente werk, de video installatie Poof Paradise, werd 2018 in het Freud Museum Vienna en in de 5020 Gallerij in Salzburg, Oostenrijk.

In poof paradise, the imagery is reminding the viewer of a pastel coloured fairy-tale. Our princess*, if you will, is a pink anus that takes on a journey to the often mystical place of the cruising area. Where colourful hands try to seduce our protagonist and communication is set to a meaningless and shallow minimum. Cruising usually happens far away from our heteronormative society but at the same time in public spaces. In poof paradise those spaces transform into a surreal world where the possibilities of queer identities are endless and the existing boundaries of our societal norms dissolve. Influenced by James Bidgood and John Waters, the artists create a lustful amalgam of the sweet and the bizarre.
Berivan Sayici and Florian Aschka met at the University of Applied Arts Vienna where they studied photography and later at the academy of fine arts Vienna where they studied under Hans Ashley Scheirl. Since then, they realised numerous artistic projects together. Their latest work, the video installation Poof Paradise was exhibited in 2018 at the Freud Museum Vienna and at the 5020 Gallery in Salzburg, Austria.

RE:PRODUCTION verkent de fetisj die beter bekend staat als ‘milking’. Dit bestaat kort gezegd uit de adaptatie van koemelk machines uit de jaren 50 voor het gebruik bij mensen. De film verbeeldt een dystopische toekomst waarin mannelijke seksualiteit aan sneltempo betekenisloos en gedehumaniseerd wordt. De mannelijke seksualiteit wordt gereduceerd tot een productie die meer gelijkenissen heeft met de massaproductie in melkfabrieken.
Christan Gordine is een onafhankelijk filmmaker uit Wales, woonachtig in Londen. Zijn werk verkent maatschappelijk interessante onderwerpen en experimentele film. Hij heeft op talloze liefdadigheidsprojecten, alsook zijn interesse voor LGBTQ+ gerelateerde onderwerpen. Christian ontving onlangs voor zijn kortfilm Unsent Letter de award voor ‘Best LGBT short film’ op het Edinbiurgh Film Festival in 2018.

RE:PRODUCTION is an exploration of the fetish known as milking. In short, this consists of the modification of 1950's cow milking machines for the use of humans. Inspired by a Craigs List Casual Encounter ad, RE:PRODUCTION imagines a dystopia world in which male sexuality, increasingly desensitized and dehumanized, has been reduced to a necessary process more in common with a mass production milking factory.
Christian Gordine is a Welsh independent filmmaker based in London, whose work explores social interest subjects and experimental film. Having worked on a number of humanitarian projects, he also has a keen interest in LGBTQ+ topics. Christian’s short film Unsent Letter was recently awarded Best LGBT short film at Edinburgh Independent Film Festival in 2018.
