Strangelove stelt gangbare maatschappelijke normen over gender en seksualiteit in vraag. Het festival is een presentatieplek en creatieplatform voor makers die werken rond thema’s als transgender, beeldvorming van man/vrouw zijn, rollenpatronen, feminisme, seksuele geaardheid, seksualiteitsbeleving, contra-cultuur en de politieke en maatschappelijke status van holebi’s en transgenders. Daarnaast is Strangelove een ontmoetingsplek waar queers en iedereen die geïnteresseerd is in het thema uitgenodigd worden tot een open dialoog.
Strangelove questions the current social standards about gender and sexuality. The festival is a presentation place and a creation platform for creators working on themes such as transgender, gender/gender identity, role patterns, feminism, sexual orientation, sexuality, contra culture and the political and the social status of gay and transgender people. In addition, Strangelove is a meeting place where queers and anyone interested in the theme is invited to an open dialogue.
